Intelligent Data Infrastructure Engineer (C/C++)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; hybrid working environment with in-office and in-person expectations.

Salary: $196,350–$292,600 per year.

What you will do

• Design and develop core infrastructure software for storage, data management, caching, metadata services, and distributed systems.
• Build high-performance software in C, C++, and Python, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and resiliency.
• Develop data movement, replication, protection, and lifecycle management capabilities.
• Design infrastructure for AI/ML pipelines, LLM training and inference, and RAG workloads.
• Collaborate with hardware, platform, networking, and cloud engineering teams on end-to-end solutions.
• Improve performance, automated testing, observability, reliability, debugging, and operational automation using profiling and AI agents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience developing systems software, operating systems, storage platforms, or distributed infrastructure.
• Expert-level programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, memory management, multithreading, concurrency, networking, distributed systems, and performance optimization.
• Experience developing software on Linux, with strong debugging and performance analysis skills.
• Strong systems thinking, software architecture, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with storage systems, file systems, object storage, distributed data platforms, or cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of AI infrastructure, GPU clusters, and large-scale AI data pipelines.
• Experience with Rust or Go, plus Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience using AI coding assistants and autonomous AI agents for software development, testing, and debugging.
