Senior Coding Compliance Auditor - Outpatient

Location: Remote - Nationwide; must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require. Travel is expected not to exceed 10%.

Salary: $76,300–$131,550 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Conduct detailed outpatient and inpatient coding compliance audits and monitoring activities.
• Analyze audit findings, identify discrepancies and trends, and develop recommendations and Management Action Plans with service line leaders.
• Lead the Audit the Auditor quality program and improve audit management tools and processes.
• Prepare audit reports, dashboards, issue logs, compliance records, and updates for Compliance leadership.
• Create training materials and provide education, onboarding, coaching, and ongoing support to coding auditors.
• Support risk assessments, annual compliance work plans, internal control evaluations, and compliance program effectiveness reviews.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in healthcare, acute coding, compliance, auditing, or a related field.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, DRG, CPT, and HCPCS coding, including acute outpatient and inpatient experience.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle operations, compliance standards, and auditing standards.
• At least one current professional certification: CPC, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT; CCS is preferred. CHC may be obtained at a designated time after acceptance.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; health records management or medical coding education is preferred.
• Basic Word and Excel knowledge, plus experience with Epic, Cerner, and/or Meditech.
