Vice President, Systems Engineering (Quantum Computing)

Location: Remote (CT, US)

Base pay range: $247,000–$460,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Define and execute the systems engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap for the gate-model quantum computing platform.
• Own end-to-end system architecture, including requirements decomposition, subsystem interfaces, and verification strategies.
• Lead cross-functional integration, verification, validation, and technical execution across quantum hardware, software, cloud, and monitoring systems.
• Drive system-level trade-offs involving performance, schedule, risk, manufacturability, and product objectives.
• Establish engineering processes, architecture governance, technical standards, and organizational capabilities for scalable product development.
• Build, lead, mentor, and grow a systems engineering organization with engineering managers and senior technical leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive systems engineering experience developing complex hardware and software products involving advanced technologies.
• 10+ years leading multidisciplinary engineering organizations delivering integrated technical systems.
• Experience defining system architectures and delivering large-scale products from concept through commercialization.
• Expertise in architecture, requirements management, interface definition, system integration, verification, and validation.
• Strong executive communication, collaboration, technical strategy, and organizational leadership skills.
