Salary: $200,698–$262,765 base salary per year, plus bonus and equity

What you will do
- Lead and grow a software engineering team building SDKs and libraries for quantum computers, simulators, and related services.
- Work as a player-coach by contributing to the codebase, participating in code reviews, and maintaining engineering best practices.
- Drive technical and functional delivery of team and organization-wide programs.
- Partner with engineering managers, product managers, and external software teams to define and deliver large initiatives.
- Develop program management frameworks, KPIs, proposals, documentation, and cross-team plans.
- Engage with developer forums and events while helping hire key staff to scale the function.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of technical leadership and people management experience.
- 5+ years of open-source contributions and 3+ years of Python programming experience.
- Experience building SDKs, preferably for hybrid-cloud environments.
- Experience building and scaling effective teams in a distributed work environment.
- U.S. person status or applicable export-control authorization may be required to access restricted technology and perform government-contract work.
Nice to have
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Quantum Information Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of technical leadership and people management experience.
- Experience managing distributed teams and maintaining active open-source projects.
- Background in quantum computing or quantum information science.
- Experience with Qiskit, PennyLane, or Cirq.
