Operations Supervisor, Testing (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Lancaster, Texas, United States; travel once every four weeks to a remote industrial testing site with sparse amenities.

What you will do

• Supervise daily autonomous vehicle testing operations and support on-site execution and troubleshooting.
• Lead Test Specialists, Safety Drivers, and Assisted Autonomy Operators while coordinating shared staffing, shift handoffs, fleet utilization, and test throughput.
• Act as the on-shift decision-maker, escalating critical operational issues and tracking throughput, test completion, and issue-resolution metrics.
• Enforce standard operating procedures, safety policies, project priorities, and CDL/HOS compliance requirements where applicable.
• Review operational documentation, identify process gaps and performance trends, and implement corrective actions with Engineering and Operations Management.
• Coach team members through one-on-ones, ride-alongs, evaluations, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in autonomous vehicle testing, fleet operations, or related automotive environments.
• Experience in a working-lead or supervisory role in a fast-paced, safety-critical setting.
• Strong understanding of autonomous vehicle systems, testing workflows, operational safety, fleet management, and test execution.
• Experience managing shift-based teams while maintaining productivity, morale, and operational consistency.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks and operational risk management principles.
• Ability to communicate complex operational information clearly and remain calm under pressure.
