Operations Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: El Segundo, United States; onsite role. All applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR.

Annual salary: $100,000–$160,000 USD.

What you will do

• Resolve production disruptions across processes, machines, materials, suppliers, and systems using structured root cause analysis.
• Map and redesign manufacturing workflows, remove bottlenecks, and scale production processes for higher volume and headcount.
• Own and improve the internal ERP, correct data and workflow issues, and work with software engineering to build missing functionality.
• Develop EH&S traceability systems, including hazardous material flags, SDS records, supplier certifications, and training records.
• Build Excel, SQL, Python, and Power BI tools and dashboards for capacity, cycle time, cost, and output analysis.
• Manage hazardous materials, safety programs, regulatory compliance, suppliers, contractor qualification, scorecards, corrective actions, and second sourcing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, manufacturing, chemical, or related engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience as an operations, industrial, process, or manufacturing engineer, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience solving production problems on the floor with structured root cause analysis.
• Working knowledge of OSHA general industry standards and hazardous material handling.
• U.S. person status as defined by ITAR, including U.S. citizenship, U.S. permanent residence, or protected-person status.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing, including AS9100 or ITAR environments.
• Experience as an industrial, operations, process, or manufacturing engineer in a developmental manufacturing environment.
• Strong project management skills and communication across multidisciplinary teams.
• EH&S experience, including safety programs, RCRA or DOT hazardous waste, environmental permits, or industrial hygiene.
