Senior Validation Engineer - Autonomy Scalability (Autonomous Mining Systems)

Location: Mossville, Illinois, United States; onsite five days per week on the second shift. Domestic relocation assistance is available. The role requires up to 10% travel.

Salary: $112,710–$183,140 per year.

What you will do

• Execute system integration and validation activities for autonomous mining truck systems in the Command for Hauling program.
• Test functionality, safety, and performance in scalability lab and Software-in-the-Loop environments.
• Develop, integrate, troubleshoot, and evaluate autonomy software for perception, positioning, path planning, and machine control.
• Analyze test, simulation, and field data to identify root causes and improve autonomous system performance.
• Collaborate with software, systems, and validation engineering teams to translate requirements into testable solutions and communicate technical results.

Requirements

• Experience with technical troubleshooting, software product testing, problem solving, and industry-specific engineering practices.
• Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, mining automation, or system integration and validation.
• Understanding of path planning, perception, positioning, and machine control systems.
• Experience with Linux and Software-in-the-Loop or simulation-based testing.
• Ability to investigate complex software and system-level issues using data analysis and root-cause techniques.
• Must work onsite at the Mossville, Illinois office five days per week; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience validating safety-critical software in real-world or virtual test environments.
• Construction or mining industry experience.
