Manager, Software Engineering (Payments)

What you will do

• Define and execute the multi-year payments engineering strategy.
• Lead and develop engineers building reliable, secure, and scalable payments products and infrastructure.
• Partner with Product, Design, Risk, Finance, Compliance, Operations, and external partners to improve payment experiences.
• Provide technical and architectural leadership for complex distributed systems and shared payment platforms.
• Lead engineering initiatives from conception through launch and iteration, managing dependencies, risks, and cross-timezone alignment.
• Establish standards for reliability, observability, security, testing, operational readiness, and incident response.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including experience managing and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Experience building and operating payments, fintech, financial services, commerce, or other high-scale transactional systems.
• Experience hiring, coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers at different levels.
• Strong technical judgment and experience guiding the architecture of complex distributed systems.
• Understanding of data integrity, consistency, resiliency, security, scalability, and operational excellence in financial systems.
