Offshore Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Blacksburg, Virginia, United States; international travel of up to approximately 50% required.

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 annually

What you will do

• Maintain quality for motion control and electronic components in a manufacturing environment.
• Review contracts, industry requirements, and regulatory flow-downs for compliance.
• Apply SPC, Gage R&R, 5 Why, fault tree, and Six Sigma tools to analyze and resolve quality issues.
• Conduct quote reviews, assign quality-related costs, and support internal and external quality responses.
• Develop quality documentation and test procedures while maintaining part and specification compliance.
• Build vendor relationships, communicate with customers and internal teams, and cascade preventive lessons learned across programs and products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a bachelor's degree with relevant manufacturing experience, or an associate degree with at least three years of related manufacturing experience.
• Experience communicating with internal and external customers, coworkers, and other business disciplines.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work independently in a team-based manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work onsite in Blacksburg, Virginia, and travel internationally up to approximately 50% of the time.
• Ability to work with confidential information and enterprise information systems.

Nice to have

• Manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with lean principles and Six Sigma.
• Electro-mechanical or magnetic systems experience.
• Conversational English and Spanish proficiency for communication with Spanish-speaking clients.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
