Director, IT Vendor Management (Insurance)

What you will do

• Develop and execute the IT vendor management strategy, governance framework, policies, standards, controls, and vendor segmentation model.
• Oversee the full vendor lifecycle from sourcing and contracting through performance management, renewal, offboarding, and exit.
• Establish SLA, KPI, scorecard, business review, and continuous improvement processes to improve vendor performance and business value.
• Partner with procurement and legal on contract negotiations, service levels, penalties, security requirements, exit provisions, spend optimization, and total cost of ownership.
• Manage third-party risk, cybersecurity and regulatory compliance, due diligence, continuity planning, and contingency planning.
• Build and lead a high-performing vendor management team while advising senior stakeholders and supporting vendor and contract integration during acquisitions and organizational changes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in IT, sourcing, vendor management, or procurement.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing vendor management or strategic sourcing teams.
• Proven experience managing large, complex vendor portfolios with significant spend.
• Strong experience in contract negotiation, vendor performance management, financial oversight, cost optimization, and risk management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience in complex, matrixed, regulated, decentralized, or multi-entity enterprise environments, with the ability to lead on-site and virtual teams globally.
