Senior Architect - Claims (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Hartford, Connecticut; Short Hills, New Jersey; or Charlotte, North Carolina

Salary: USD $163,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Design system blueprints and multi-year roadmaps for Claims platforms, including data flows, integrations, security controls, and dependencies.
• Lead cloud-native modernization using Azure services, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and platform engineering capabilities.
• Define API-first, REST/GraphQL, event-driven, and interoperability standards across Claims and adjacent platforms.
• Establish architecture-aligned guidance for coding standards, design patterns, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Define non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, availability, resiliency, observability, and security.
• Evaluate Azure AI Services, generative AI, and intelligent automation opportunities while partnering with business, product, and delivery stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of application development experience and 3+ years in a Solution, Application, or Enterprise Architecture role.
• Expertise in application, integration, data, security, and cloud architecture using .NET, Pega, Oracle, SQL, and Azure.
• Experience with microservices, API-first design, REST/GraphQL, event-driven architectures, Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and automated testing.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and integrating Pega-based BPM platforms and workflows.
• Ability to define architecture standards, lead reviews, mentor delivery groups, and communicate complex Claims solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Property and casualty insurance experience or experience in another highly regulated environment.
• Knowledge of Claims workflow modernization, intelligent document processing, and Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies.
