ARISE2 Postdoctoral Fellowship (Life Sciences)

Location: Heidelberg, Germany; flexible hybrid working arrangements are offered.

Salary: €3,228.38–€4,118.45 gross per month, depending on the hirify.global host site. Fellows are exempt from national taxes and contribute to hirify.global’s social security system.

hirify.global is an intergovernmental research laboratory focused on life sciences and advanced technologies, operating across six European sites.

What you will do

• Develop a method or technology with potential for broader research service applications.
• Align a project with hirify.global research areas including genomics, structural biology, imaging, cell and tissue biology, environmental research and translational applications.
• Work in fields such as bioinformatics, AI/ML, computational modelling, software engineering, data management, imaging, optical engineering, robotics, microfluidics, biotechnology and omics.
• Participate in structured training covering research infrastructure operation, service provision, project and staff management, innovation, science policy, FAIR principles and AI.
• Build professional networks through secondments and job shadowing at hirify.global and ARISE2 partner organisations.

Requirements

• Ph.D. by September 30, 2026; applicants who have defended their thesis but are awaiting the formal degree are eligible.
• University degree in a relevant STEM discipline.
• Experience in technology development relevant to participating research groups and teams, from academia or industry.
• Strong research potential demonstrated through publications, software, datasets, patents, technical documentation or other innovative research outputs.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong communication, organisational and time-management skills.
• Fluent English is required; English is hirify.global’s working language.
