QAQC Specialist (HVAC)

Location: Austin, TX; on-site fieldwork at customer properties and job sites. Local travel is 30% or more and may occasionally involve overnight travel.

Salary: $55,000–$62,000 annually. The stated compensation range is $48,800–$66,300 USD.

What you will do

• Perform quality assurance inspections and audits of multifamily energy-efficiency upgrades, focusing on HVAC systems.
• Conduct pre- and post-installation inspections to verify proper installation and system performance.
• Evaluate HVAC maintenance tune-ups and upgrades for compliance, safety, and efficiency.
• Inspect lighting systems, controls, and mechanical components for program compliance.
• Measure airflow and system performance with diagnostic equipment, and operate HVAC equipment to confirm functionality.
• Document findings for internal program teams and represent Austin Energy professionally in the field.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude and HVAC experience required; one or more years of experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and reporting tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license.
• Must safely operate a vehicle for local Austin-area travel and maintain a clean driving record; post-offer drug screening and MVR checks are required.
• Must already be authorized to work in the United States without employer immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
