DevOps Engineer (Medical Technology)

Location: Brisbane, Australia; primarily office-based with a hybrid working environment

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure, platform services, and production and development environments.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code solutions and automate environment provisioning and operational processes.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and software delivery workflows.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions for production systems.
• Partner with software engineers, hardware engineering, clinical research, product, quality, security, and QA teams to improve reliability, deployment readiness, and developer experience.
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, support scalability and disaster recovery, and contribute to security, compliance, verification, and validation activities for regulated medical devices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, cloud engineering, SRE, or software engineering.
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, Linux systems, containers, and distributed applications.
• Understanding of networking, security, identity management, cloud architecture, monitoring, logging, observability, Git, troubleshooting, and Agile development.
• Ability to work in a primarily office-based hybrid environment in Brisbane.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS services including ECS, Fargate, CloudFront, S3, WAF, RDS, ECR, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, and VPC.
• Experience with Pulumi, Terraform, or CloudFormation and TeamCity with Kotlin DSL.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, OpenTelemetry, CrowdStrike Falcon, WIZ, Azure AD B2C, Entra ID, Auth0, or Okta.
• Understanding of SRE concepts including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and operational metrics.
• Experience with regulated or safety-critical software environments.
