Lead Platform Engineer (GCP)

Location: Melbourne, Australia

Salary: $180,000–$200,000 per year, plus a potential discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Lead and architect GCP platform environments for enterprise-scale data migrations.
• Design secure cloud landing zones, infrastructure blueprints, and enterprise DevOps frameworks.
• Establish Infrastructure as Code practices and automate operations using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
• Build CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and observability frameworks, disaster recovery solutions, and identity and access management controls.
• Optimize infrastructure performance, reliability, scalability, and cloud costs.
• Lead and mentor DevOps team members while guiding technical decisions and collaborating with development, technical services, and senior management.

Requirements

• 10–12+ years of overall experience, including 6–8 years in DevOps or Data DevOps.
• Extensive experience designing and implementing cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Kustomize, Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Advanced programming skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, and Go.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, cloud security, compliance, and enterprise DevOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving, solution architecture, communication, coordination, and technical leadership skills.
