Program Validation & Safety Engineer (Automotive): Leading validation strategy and execution for full-size truck programs, including DVUL, LADV, virtual validation, regulatory compliance, and Product Validation Completion Letters with an accent on hardware planning, governance, and vehicle-level risk management. Focus on integrating validation plans, coordinating cross-functional approvals, resolving technical and timing risks, and ensuring vehicles are test-ready and compliant.
Location: Hybrid in Milford, Michigan or Warren, Michigan, with reporting to the assigned location at least three times per week.

What you will do
- Lead program validation strategy and execution for full-size truck programs from PFI through SORP.
- Integrate DVUL, LADV, and virtual validation plans into a cohesive program-level strategy.
- Manage validation hardware planning, build readiness, design fidelity assessments, and shared property usage.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the vehicle program and validation teams, leading the Program Validation Team.
- Track regulatory, certification, and validation completion and coordinate approvals for the Product Validation Completion Letter.
- Identify, communicate, escalate, and resolve validation risks while driving process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant technical experience, excluding co-op and internship experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Business acumen, analytical ability, and skill in summarizing complex information and identifying risks or missing details.
- Proficiency with Jira, Slack, and Power BI.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future GM immigration sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Advanced engineering knowledge across mechanical or electrical mechanisms, physics, software, and control systems.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or an MBA.
- Experience with virtual design, development, and validation, GM electrical benches, or vehicle software.
- Experience managing vehicle-level technical and timing risks, strategy roadmaps, and critical path analysis.
- Understanding of global vehicle architectures and subsystem, system, feature, and vehicle interdependencies.
