Instrumentation and Electrical Technician (Bioethanol)

Location: On-site in Fairmont, Nebraska, United States. Monday–Thursday day shift with an on-call rotation, including possible after-hours, weekend, and holiday emergency calls.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot root causes, repair or replace components, rewire, and install electrical and instrumentation equipment, including conduit and wiring.
• Maintain and troubleshoot 4160V, 480V, 220V, 110V, and 24V DC systems, motors, breakers, protective relays, transformers, panels, and motor control centers.
• Troubleshoot PLC/DCS I/O, 4–20 mA loops, and 120V/24V DC I/O.
• Calibrate, configure, and repair flow, level, pressure, temperature, and pH instruments, valves, and valve actuators.
• Perform preventive electrical maintenance, compliance procedures, documentation, inventory control, and calibration recordkeeping.
• Support emergency and scheduled shutdowns, electrical program development, safety training, and plant operations.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in an electrical training program or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of related work experience and experience with three-phase electrical systems up to 4160V.
• Thorough knowledge of standard electrical equipment and work practices, including industrial motors, breakers, PLCs, transformers, and protective relays.
• Ability to read and interpret PLC code, schematic wiring, ladder diagrams, and P&ID process diagrams.
• Industrial network experience and basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to meet physical and safety requirements, including working at heights and in confined spaces, lifting up to 60 pounds, using PPE, and passing a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Nice to have

• Journeyman or Master electrical license, where applicable.
