Instrument and Controls Technician (Electrical and Instrumentation)

Location: East Northport, New York, United States; onsite power plant work

Salary: $51.17 per hour, subject to the Labor Union / Collective Bargaining Agreement

What you will do

• Maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair low- and medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, motor starters, power transformers, and AC switchgear.
• Maintain electrical systems for energy-from-waste boilers, pumps, fans, motors, conveyors, refuse cranes, and air pollution control systems.
• Inspect, adjust, calibrate, and repair CEMS and flow, pressure, temperature, level, and flue-gas analysis instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot and repair Distributed Control Systems and historian devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including routine calibration, thermography, and ultrasonic testing.
• Support plant shutdowns, equipment inspections, maintenance records, housekeeping, and required safety and compliance training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to qualify for use of a full-face respirator.
• Ability to follow hirify.global safety practices and complete required training and certifications.

• Formal technical or apprentice training.
