Location: Binghamton, NY, United States; onsite work in an office environment and manufacturing facility. U.S. citizenship is required, and the role requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access. Occasional overtime, shift and weekend work, 24x7 on-call support, and CONUS/OCONUS travel may be required.

What you will do
- Develop and maintain reliable, high-performance software for flight and mission simulators.
- Modernize critical legacy code through enhancements, optimization, maintenance, and new features.
- Integrate software with hardware for real-time, mission-critical applications.
- Write clean, efficient code and troubleshoot complex issues in legacy and real-time systems.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and cross-functional technical collaboration.
- Deliver software through both Waterfall and Agile/Scrum development processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in mission-critical or real-time environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on software reliability in high-stakes training systems.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access.
- Ability to work occasional overtime, shifts, weekends, 24x7 on-call rotations, and travel within and outside the continental United States.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, or MIL-STD-704.
- ARINC or RTCA experience.
- Experience with Waterfall and/or Agile/Scrum environments.
- Background in military training, simulation, mission-readiness systems, or government and DoD-aligned programs.
