Brake Press Operator

Location: On-site in Columbia, South Carolina, 5 days per week

Salary: $19.50 per hour

What you will do

• Program and operate machines to form metal pieces to prescribed dimensions.
• Read print drawings and use measuring devices to determine dimensions, materials, and accurate cuts.
• Operate hand tools and perform spot welding or assembly when required.
• Move materials using forklifts, cranes, and wheeled carts or tables.
• Identify and segregate fabricated materials by job while maintaining quality standards.
• Follow safety procedures, maintain housekeeping, communicate with production leaders, and suggest process improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude, math skills, and knowledge of the decimal system.
• Ability to read blueprints and a tape measure.
• Ability to learn and operate all associated equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Commitment to safety, quality work, teamwork, and routine problem-solving.
• Manufacturing, machine operation, or metal fabrication experience is preferred.
