Software Engineering Manager

Location: Remote - US. hirify.global is headquartered in Boston, and a gaming license from the appropriate state agency may be required for employment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead planning, prioritization, execution, delivery, and team rituals for a backend platform engineering team.
• Build and develop a high-performing team through hiring, onboarding, coaching, feedback, performance management, and career development.
• Own the platform roadmap, balancing stakeholder commitments with scalability, reliability, extensibility, and developer experience.
• Translate shared product and business needs into reusable services, APIs, tools, and self-service capabilities.
• Facilitate architectural discussions covering service contracts, platform standards, integrations, migrations, and technical tradeoffs.
• Drive engineering and operational excellence through reliability, performance, observability, security, documentation, automation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
• At least 2 years of experience managing software engineering teams and supporting individual development.
• Experience leading platform, infrastructure, shared-services, or developer-enablement teams serving multiple products or business areas.
• Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language such as C# or Java, with hands-on experience using modern .NET technologies.
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, Kafka or similar message brokers, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Experience operating production systems, including observability, incident response, capacity planning, cost optimization, and reliability improvements.
