Operations Manager, Via Student Transit

Location: Sacramento, San Jose, or Santa Rosa, California; fully in-person with onsite attendance expected 4–5 days per week.

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year, excluding equity or variable pay where applicable.

What you will do

• Run daily onsite operations for student transportation services.
• Make real-time decisions involving driver supply, compliance, student needs, and unexpected service issues.
• Guide and support drivers, build trusted relationships, and address operational concerns.
• Translate student and district feedback into actionable service improvements.
• Use data and technology to assess performance, diagnose problems, and improve efficiency and rider experience.
• Coordinate school partners, drivers, and central hirify.global teams while supporting growth in the market.

Requirements

• Operational experience in people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented work.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and follow-through skills.
• Hands-on and proactive approach to solving problems in the field.
• Ability to handle tactical issues while developing longer-term solutions.
• Mission-driven interest in the role of student transportation in education and community access.
• Based in the Sacramento, San Jose, or Santa Rosa area and ready to work onsite 4–5 days per week.
