Operations Manager, Via Student Transit

Location: Sacramento, San Jose, or Santa Rosa, California; fully onsite 4–5 days per week. Candidates must be based in one of these areas.

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year, excluding equity or variable pay.

What you will do

• Run daily onsite operations for student transportation services, ensuring safe, reliable, and accessible transportation.
• Make real-time decisions about driver supply, compliance, student needs, and unexpected operational issues.
• Guide and support drivers by building relationships, addressing concerns, and ensuring readiness to serve students and families.
• Analyze student and district feedback, identify patterns, and collaborate with internal teams on operational improvements.
• Use data and technology to evaluate service performance, diagnose problems, and improve efficiency and rider experience.
• Coordinate between school partners, drivers, and hirify.global’s central teams to deliver high-quality service and support market growth.

Requirements

• Experience in operations, people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented work.
• Strong relationship-building skills, with clear communication and reliable follow-through.
• Hands-on and proactive approach, with a willingness to work in the field and solve problems where they occur.
• Ability to solve immediate operational issues while developing longer-term solutions.
• Understanding of the importance of student transportation to education and life outcomes.
• Based in the Sacramento, San Jose, or Santa Rosa area and available to work onsite 4–5 days per week.
