Lead of Internal Accounting Team (Fintech)

Location: Remote in the European region; hybrid workplace with optional offices and relocation support

What you will do

• Own and oversee the full accounting cycle across Group companies and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing.
• Ensure accurate accounting treatment and reporting for crypto and fiat transactions, digital assets, wallets, exchanges, payment providers, and banks.
• Oversee transaction-data completeness, intercompany accounting, and reconciliations across multiple legal entities.
• Investigate discrepancies between accounting records, operational systems, wallet and exchange balances, and other data sources.
• Lead a team of 4–5 accountants through workload allocation, prioritization, quality control, and deadline management.
• Standardize, optimize, and automate accounting processes while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience at Senior Accountant, Lead Accountant, Accounting Manager, Chief Accountant, or a similar level.
• Strong practical knowledge of 1C, including accounting entries, reconciliations, period-end closing, and financial reporting.
• Full accounting-cycle expertise covering GL, AP/AR, accruals, provisions, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, and reporting.
• Experience with multiple legal entities, complex transactional datasets, IFRS or other relevant accounting standards, and external or statutory audits.
• Experience managing or coordinating an accounting team and investigating complex transaction flows across multiple systems.
• Professional working proficiency in English and Russian.

Nice to have

• Experience in crypto, digital assets, blockchain, fintech, payments, or financial services.
• Experience with high-volume transactions, multiple currencies, international Group structures, and cross-border intercompany operations.
• Knowledge of cryptocurrency and digital-asset accounting.
• Experience improving or automating accounting processes and reporting in 1C with technical teams.
