Specialist-Payroll (Workday)

Location: Davidson, North Carolina, United States. Monday through Thursday onsite with colleagues; Fridays offer flexibility to choose the work location based on business needs.

Salary: $49,400.00–$87,639.99 annual base salary range or hourly base pay range; compensation type: exception hourly.

What you will do

• Process recurring, off-cycle, and adjustment payroll activities in Workday accurately and on schedule.
• Review payroll data including earnings, deductions, taxes, time records, and direct deposit information.
• Audit payroll results, research discrepancies, and resolve employee or stakeholder payroll questions.
• Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, documentation, and year-end tax reporting support.
• Process overpayments and support garnishment submissions to ADP while maintaining accurate records.
• Participate in process improvements, documentation updates, testing, and Workday payroll enhancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience processing payroll in Workday or a comparable HRIS/payroll platform.
• Working knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour requirements, and payroll tax fundamentals.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage deadline-driven priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting multi-state payroll processing.
• Experience with payroll audits, reconciliations, and compliance reporting.
• Familiarity with HR, benefits, and timekeeping system integrations.
