Community Mortgage Loan Officer - Charlotte, NC (Mortgage)

What you will do

• Build partnerships with nonprofit organizations and local community groups, with an emphasis on low- to moderate-income census tracts.
• Provide homebuyer education and develop internal and external mortgage referral sources.
• Advise clients on mortgage loan options and other financial products using consultative selling techniques.
• Support customers from approval through closing by coordinating with loan origination sources and verifying underwriting information.
• Help customers complete loan applications and maintain long-term client relationships.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of mortgage loan origination experience, preferably in a bank.
• NMLS license.
• Knowledge of mortgage products, procedures, documentation, and underwriting guidelines.
• Current authorization to work full-time in the United States is required.
• Visa or immigration sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Existing pipeline and book of business.
• Established nonprofit and local community organization relationships supporting homebuyer education.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with conventional, FHA/VA, construction lending, and portfolio programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, multitasking, and PC and internet skills.
