Backend Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript)

What you will do

• Own integrations connecting hirify.global with Slack, GitHub, Jira, Linear, and other tools.
• Build importers that migrate customer history while preserving comments, assignments, and other data.
• Design queue and worker architecture with retries, idempotency, backpressure, and safe job execution.
• Build OAuth and developer-facing APIs for external applications, including agent apps operating inside customer workspaces.
• Collaborate with Django engineers and respond to external developers through public GitHub issues.
• Repair partial imports, expired-token failures, rate-limit issues, and other reconciliation problems.

Requirements

• Production experience with Node.js and TypeScript, including a shipped project that can be discussed in detail.
• Experience with Express, NestJS, or a comparable backend framework.
• Experience building queue and worker systems, including retries and idempotency.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs, including rate limits, pagination, webhooks, and token expiration.
• Working knowledge of Postgres, including query analysis and indexing.
• Backend experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Python/Django, Postgres, Redis, and RabbitMQ.

Nice to have

• Contributions to hirify.global or another dependable open-source project.
• Experience building data-preserving importers or migration tools.
• Experience providing OAuth services or building developer platforms.
• Experience designing systems where AI agents act on real data, including permissions and audit trails.
