Associate II, Fixed Income Trading Desk Support (Fixed Income)

Location: Onsite at the Northland Securities office in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States

Salary: $79,363–$130,949 base pay annually

What you will do

• Execute the full lifecycle of competitive new-issue deals, including DTCC eligibility, closing coordination, funds movement, and settlement.
• Back up the Lead Fixed Income Trading Desk Support and facilitate closing calls when required.
• Oversee trade capture, comparison, settlement, and resolution of trade breaks across new issues and secondary-market activity.
• Coordinate with traders, sales producers, operations, compliance, counterparties, issuers, and clearing firms.
• Support FINRA, MSRB, SEC, TRACE, and EMMA reporting, surveillance, books and records, and operational documentation.
• Cross-train entry-level staff and contribute to workflow improvement, technology upgrades, and desk efficiency projects.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in fixed-income trading desk support, operations, or a related function, including significant new-issue competitive deal experience.
• FINRA licenses: SIE, Series 7, and Series 63.
• Strong knowledge of DTCC eligibility, closing calls, funds movement, settlement, trade breaks, and fixed-income regulatory requirements.
• Expertise with Bloomberg, iPreo, EMMA, and related trading-desk platforms.
• Exceptional accuracy, organization, communication, and prioritization skills in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment processing 800–900 transactions annually.
• Unrestricted US work authorization is required; future sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
• Equivalent professional experience in place of a degree may be considered.
