M&T Bank is a banking organization hiring for fixed income trading and institutional portfolio management.

What you will do

• Execute trades in U.S. Treasury securities, agency securities, commercial paper, corporate bonds, asset-backed securities, floating-rate notes, repurchase agreements, and other cash-equivalent investments.
• Support enhanced cash and short-duration investment strategies for taxable investment-grade portfolios.
• Perform relative value analysis across sectors, issuers, and maturities to identify investment opportunities.
• Monitor interest rate markets, Federal Reserve policy, yield curves, money market conditions, credit spreads, and funding markets.
• Assist with portfolio positioning, liquidity, performance, trade settlement, broker-dealer coordination, and new issue communications.
• Identify risk-related issues, follow regulatory controls, and support audit and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Business, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of fixed income trading experience.
• In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 2 years of fixed income trading experience.
• Knowledge of fixed income instruments, liquidity management, portfolio positioning, and risk parameters.
• Ability to monitor markets and evaluate economic and credit conditions to support investment decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience in fixed income, treasury management, capital markets, banking, asset management, or investment operations.
• Progress toward the CFA designation.
• Experience with Bloomberg Terminal and fixed income analytics platforms.
