Cybersecurity Specialist (Avionics Systems)

Location: Remote within the United States; company location listed as East Hartford, CT.

What you will do

• Define and maintain airworthiness security processes across projects.
• Perform Aircraft/System Security Scope Definition and Security Risk Analysis for airborne and ground systems.
• Derive and validate cybersecurity requirements aligned with certification expectations.
• Support secure architecture definition and verification activities.
• Develop cybersecurity cases demonstrating compliance to EASA, FAA, and TCCA authorities.
• Contribute to penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, security audits, and security-by-design practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong cybersecurity experience with embedded or safety-critical systems, preferably in aerospace or defense.
• Experience with DO-326A, ED-202A, DO-355, DO-356A, or equivalent frameworks such as ISO/SAE 21434 or IEC 62443.
• Understanding of DO-178C, ARP4754A, and DO-254 development processes.
• Proficiency in threat modeling, secure coding practices, and security risk analysis.
• Ability to collaborate across architecture, software, safety, and verification teams and communicate complex security concepts clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience interacting with certification authorities or delegates and participating in Stage Of Involvement meetings.
• Cybersecurity certification such as CISSP or GICSP.
