Senior Security Engineer - Hypersonic Systems (Aerospace)

Location: Mojave, California, United States; onsite or hybrid

Base salary: $120,000–$158,000 per year

hirify.global engineers reusable, air-launched Talon testbeds and hypersonic testing infrastructure to generate flight data for national security and technology development.

What you will do

• Secure flight computers, controllers, embedded processors, instrumentation, sensors, and telemetry devices.
• Design and validate secure boot, firmware integrity, hardware trust boundaries, and tamper protections.
• Protect wind tunnels, propulsion stands, thermal test environments, data acquisition systems, and command paths from cyber disruption.
• Secure telemetry pipelines, digital twins, models, simulations, and test-result data lineage.
• Threat-model cyber-physical workflows, integrate security into test software, and red-team environments before execution.
• Define supplier security requirements, validate firmware provenance, and assess counterfeit, compromised, or third-party equipment risks.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in product security, embedded security, OT security, or cyber-physical systems.
• Hands-on experience securing non-cloud, non-SaaS systems and working with embedded Linux, RTOS, or bare-metal environments.
• Experience with test systems, mission systems, or safety-critical environments, including threat modeling of hardware, software, and operational workflows.
• Familiarity with nation-state adversary tradecraft and classified or export-controlled environments.
• Active Top Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain it is required.
• U.S. citizenship may be required for positions involving government clearance or other restricted work.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CISSP-ISSEP, or equivalent certification.
• Familiarity with NISPOM, ITAR, DFARS, CMMC Level 2+, and RMF for non-IT systems.
