Engineering Lead / Technical Team Lead (Java/AWS)

Location: Cluj-Napoca, Romania; office work required three days per week

What you will do

• Define the target-state architecture for an assigned workstream and guide incremental implementation.
• Own end-to-end technical delivery from architectural decisions through production release.
• Set and enforce code quality, peer review, CI/CD, secure SDLC, and SBOM management standards.
• Drive the refactoring of legacy components into maintainable modern services.
• Mentor senior engineers, conduct design reviews, and promote engineering excellence.
• Act as the primary technical liaison for engineering stakeholders and program governance teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including 3+ years as a Technical Lead or Architect.
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot or Micronaut, or C#/.NET; Python experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and data modeling.
• Experience with real-time and event-driven systems, Kafka, WebSockets, and high-throughput data pipelines.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automated quality gates, and infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Proficient English at B2+ level is required for technical communication.

Nice to have

• Financial services or capital markets experience.
• Scaled Agile or SAFe experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus.
