Underwriting & Data Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Monitor and analyse underwriting performance across more than 20 UK Commercial and Specialty business units.
• Develop underwriting performance KPIs covering submissions, rates, retention, exposure, and volumes.
• Lead monthly and quarterly performance packs for senior leadership and capacity providers.
• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools, working with UK and Group data teams.
• Track and reconcile profit commissions and support capacity reviews, renewals, and negotiations.
• Improve binder and capacity oversight through premium monitoring, exception reporting, and performance tracking.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and reporting skills with experience in underwriting or insurance performance analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data visualisation.
• Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Knowledge of GWP, earned premium, loss ratios, and commission structures.
• Experience with policy administration systems and data warehouses.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex data clearly to senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Background and working knowledge in data science and AI.
• Experience with delegated authority or MGA environments.
