System Architect (AI)

Location: Warsaw, Poland; on-site position with 4 days at the office and 1 day WFH

What you will do

• Own backend architecture, including service boundaries, data flows, communication patterns, and data ownership.
• Define standards for API design, versioning, integrations, project structure, testing, error handling, documentation, and architecture decisions.
• Design high-throughput, low-latency, and failure-tolerant systems while identifying bottlenecks, single points of failure, architectural risks, and technical debt.
• Choose storage technologies, design schemas, evaluate frameworks and third-party services, and establish caching and performance strategies.
• Design production LLM integrations, including agent and tool-calling patterns, MCP servers, context handling, evaluation, fallbacks, and AI-assisted development workflows.
• Collaborate with mobile, data, cloud, and product teams; review designs and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of backend engineering experience, including recent work in an architect role.
• Deep hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, REST, gRPC, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous processing.
• Hands-on Kafka experience, including topic design, partitioning, consumer groups, and delivery guarantees; experience with SQL, NoSQL, Redis, and system tuning.
• Knowledge of application security, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, monitoring, and logging.
• Daily use of AI coding agents and experience shipping LLM features to production, including prompt and context design, tool calling, MCP, streaming, cost, and latency control; Intermediate+ English required.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-scale consumer products, real-time systems, monolith decomposition, or large migrations.
• JVM performance tuning, profiling, and mobile–backend integration.
• Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, MCP servers, RAG, vector stores, embeddings, or LLM output evaluation.
