Analyst, Brokerage Placement - Commercial Lines (Insurance)

What you will do

• Review and evaluate commercial lines submissions for acceptability under company guidelines.
• Negotiate coverage terms and requirements, issue quotes, and bind policies accurately and on time.
• Assess risks within established authority and maintain complete, organized underwriting files.
• Ensure compliance with carrier guidelines, state regulations, and surplus lines requirements.
• Research agency, carrier, and market data to support decisions and identify profitable growth opportunities.
• Build relationships with agents, carriers, internal teams, and external partners while meeting service and production goals.

Requirements

• Active P&C and Surplus Lines licenses, or the ability to obtain them within 45 days.
• Ability to identify, evaluate, and analyze insurance needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Understanding of state-specific statutes, insurance laws, and underwriting regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, consultation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn job-related software and adapt to changing situations.
• Two or more years of related insurance experience preferred; an undergraduate degree may be considered in lieu of experience.

Nice to have

• Commercial lines insurance experience.
• Undergraduate studies in business, risk management, or a related field.
• Professional designation such as CIC or CPCU.
