Senior Embedded Engineer (IoT)

What you will do

• Design and develop embedded software for resource-constrained environments, including RTOS-based architectures and IoT modules.
• Work with cloud services that manage and automate the IoT device fleet.
• Deploy and support devices in customer environments across varying real-world conditions and hardware configurations.
• Write tests, lead end-to-end validation from devices to the IoT core, and run experiments to improve reliability and performance.
• Debug and integrate across hardware, firmware, networking, and low-level system layers.
• Own solutions from architecture through deployment while collaborating with R&D, customers, vendors, and partners.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on embedded systems experience with C/C++ and close-to-hardware development.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience testing, debugging, deploying, and adapting systems in real-world environments.
• Strong Linux/POSIX knowledge, including watchdogs, task preemption, multitasking, software interrupts, priority inversion, drivers, and low-level debugging.
• Understanding of networking principles and embedded device integration with broader IoT or cloud systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl, or similar scripting languages for automation, testing, and system integration.

Nice to have

• Experience with open-source tools and ecosystems.
• Hands-on AWS experience, including IoT Core and serverless architectures.
• Background in audio or signal processing, including FFT concepts.
• Experience with TCP/IP, the OSI model, MQTT, or Bluetooth.
• Ability to read hardware schematics and component datasheets.
