Principal Software Engineer (BSA AML)

Location: Buffalo, New York, United States; in-office work required four days per week

Salary: $178,637.05–$188,637.05 per year

What you will do

• Lead complex technical initiatives as a technical lead and individual contributor for BSA AML, identity, authentication, and fraud detection systems.
• Define and uphold the architectural vision for scalable, highly available back-end and middle-tier systems.
• Design data-intensive solutions, including enterprise data hubs, data warehouses, data marts, master data management, OLTP, ODS, and migration initiatives.
• Build ETL processes, data pipelines, and RESTful services using Java, Python, XQuery, SSIS, Informatica, and Azure Data Factory.
• Build and manage GitLab CI/CD deployment pipelines and support reliable application releases.
• Create technical specifications, architecture diagrams, data models, implementation plans, and system documentation while mentoring staff and collaborating with product owners.

Requirements

• Eight years of experience in the offered role, Solution Architect, Data Architect, or a related occupation; alternatively, a relevant bachelor's degree plus six years of experience.
• Six years of experience architecting data-intensive solutions and developing, executing, and maintaining ETL processes with SSIS and Informatica.
• Six years of experience creating data pipelines and designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs in Java, Python, or XQuery.
• Six years of experience with Scrum or other agile methodologies, GitLab CI/CD, QA and UAT support, and implementation planning.
• Experience using JIRA, Miro, and Confluence for project management, collaboration, and documentation.
• Ability to work in the Buffalo office four days each week.
