Mortgage Loan Officer (Mortgage Lending)

Location: Onsite in Traverse City, Michigan, United States. Applicants must be currently authorized to work full time in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Develop and expand internal and external referral sources to grow mortgage loan business.
• Advise customers on mortgage loan options and related financial products using consultative selling techniques.
• Provide customer service from loan approval through closing.
• Work with loan origination sources to secure and verify information required for underwriting.
• Maintain client relationships and assist customers with completing loan applications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of mortgage loan origination experience, preferably with a bank.
• NMLS license.
• Current authorization to work full time in the United States.
• Written and verbal communication, organization, multitasking, and PC and internet skills.

Nice to have

• Existing pipeline and book of business.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Knowledge of conventional, FHA/VA, construction lending, and portfolio mortgage programs.
• Knowledge of mortgage procedures, documentation, and underwriting guidelines.
• Experience identifying opportunities to cross-sell financial products and services.
