Analytics Engineer

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 base per year, plus meaningful equity

MAG is hirify.global’s market-making and proprietary trading arm, providing liquidity across sports event-contract and prediction-market venues while operating a proprietary trading book.

What you will do

• Build daily P&L reporting and intraday dashboards for open positions, exposures, and capital utilization against debt financing limits.
• Provide minute-level event-day visibility with attribution by trader, strategy, venue, league, and bet type.
• Own the tested, documented, versioned, and traceable dbt layer across Postgres, Redshift, Hex, and Metabase.
• Produce auditable monthly close-period snapshots and lender-facing covenant reporting packages.
• Build normalized data feeds, attribution models, P&L slicing, and risk views as new venues, traders, and strategies are onboarded.
• Partner with the GM on backtesting and scenario analysis and build self-service analytics for recurring trading questions.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in analytics engineering.
• Strong SQL and dbt skills, with fluency in Hex or Metabase.
• Meaningful financial services or trading experience, including position and P&L concepts, realized and unrealized P&L, fees, slippage, and attribution.
• Ability to communicate with the GM, traders, and engineers and operate as the sole analytics owner in a lean, senior environment.
• Experience using Claude Code, Cursor, and LLM-assisted development as part of an AI-native workflow.
