Legal AI Lead

Location: Melbourne CBD; full-time, 5 days per week in the office

Salary: £180,000–£280,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the adoption and embedding of AI tools across legal practice groups and business services.
• Work with partners, lawyers, senior stakeholders, and support teams to identify high-value AI use cases and redesign workflows.
• Develop tailored AI adoption strategies and provide practical guidance on prompt engineering, AI workflows, AI agents, shared project spaces, and vaults.
• Design and deliver AI training, education, change management, and technology adoption programs.
• Act as an internal legal AI subject matter expert, providing guidance, troubleshooting, and assessments of emerging AI platforms.
• Collaborate with Technology, HR, Knowledge, Risk, and other stakeholders to support responsible AI adoption and improve efficiency, quality, knowledge sharing, and client service.

Requirements

• Experience in a law firm, in-house legal team, LegalTech environment, innovation, transformation, or technology role.
• Strong practical experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Harvey, or comparable enterprise platforms.
• Hands-on experience with prompt engineering and AI-enabled workflows.
• Strong understanding of how lawyers work and how legal services are delivered.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong judgement regarding confidentiality, professional responsibility, risk, firm policies, and responsible AI use.
