Credit Accounting Analyst I (Hybrid - Buffalo, NY)

Location: Hybrid position based at the M&T Center office in Downtown Buffalo, New York, United States; in-office work four days per week and one remote work day available.

Salary: $62,200–$103,600 annual USD.

What you will do

• Calculate cash flows and loan loss reserves for legacy loan portfolios using relevant credit and financial information.
• Evaluate commercial credit risk through financial statement analysis, industry assessment, collateral valuation, cash flow analysis, and debt-service repayment assessment.
• Assist with estimating lifetime losses for the commercial loan portfolio.
• Maintain knowledge of accounting pronouncements, loan loss reserves, and troubled debt restructurings.
• Coordinate data and processes for internal, external, regulatory, finance, and credit management reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and support departmental projects, controls, audits, and compliance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and two years of relevant experience, or a combined minimum of six years of education and relevant experience.
• Commercial credit analytics and financial statement review experience.
• Strong analytical ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in the Buffalo office four days per week under the hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Access.
