Описание вакансии

Текст:

TL;DR
Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer (Imaging Systems) (Aerospace/EO-IR): Building embedded firmware, CUDA imaging pipelines, and high-throughput data paths for stratospheric balloon electro-optical and infrared payloads with an accent on sensor integration, optical calibration, and deterministic edge processing. Focus on developing PCIe data movement, radiometric and image corrections, metadata, and motion compensation for reliable imagery from moving platforms.

Location: On-site in Denver, Colorado, at the Denver headquarters; must be a US citizen or permanent resident, able to obtain and maintain a US security clearance, and located near Denver or willing to relocate. Travel is expected for field events, exercises, and customer engagements.

Company

hirify.global is a venture-backed aerospace startup that designs, builds, operates, and sells stratospheric balloon systems for applications including wildfire monitoring, urban mapping, and government missions.

What you will do

  • Own embedded firmware for electro-optical and infrared payloads, including sensor bring-up, drivers, edge compute, and board-support packages.
  • Integrate cameras and sensors over PCIe, MIPI/CSI, and USB on NVIDIA Jetson and custom embedded platforms.
  • Develop CUDA-based image processing for debayering, calibration, correction, IR processing, and computational imaging.
  • Implement imagery metadata, high-throughput data paths, routing, telemetry, and command-and-control links.
  • Integrate payload firmware with gimbal and motion-control systems and optimize latency, throughput, and determinism.
  • Develop optical calibration, image-quality characterization, frame registration, stabilization, and temporal filtering for moving platforms.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of embedded firmware development in C/C++ for embedded Linux, bare-metal, or RTOS systems.
  • Hands-on experience shipping products on NVIDIA Jetson or comparable embedded Linux/SoC platforms.
  • Deep experience with high-rate PCIe data movement, including drivers, DMA, and endpoint or root-complex operation.
  • Experience building end-to-end camera or imaging systems and working with CUDA or GPU-accelerated image processing.
  • Strong networking, data-routing, command-and-control, hardware-debugging, and schematic-reading skills.
  • US citizenship or permanent residency, eligibility for a US security clearance, and ability to work on-site near Denver are required.

Nice to have

  • IR or thermal imaging, NUC, radiometric calibration, and computational imaging experience.
  • GStreamer, V4L2, FPGA workflows, high-speed serial interfaces, or optical hardware experience.
  • Defense imagery standards such as MISB/KLV or STANAG and mission-critical development experience.
  • RF, SATCOM, tactical radio, multisensor fusion, or multispectral imaging experience.

Culture & Benefits

  • Small, supportive team culture centered on candor, inclusion, respect, and empowerment.
  • Stock options.
  • Medical, vision, and dental coverage.
  • Flexible PTO.
  • Cell phone bill stipend.
