TL;DR
GNC Engineer, Tracking Level 2 (Embedded Autonomous Systems) (C++/Computer Vision): Develop real-time target tracking and state estimation pipelines for airborne and autonomous systems with an accent on multi-sensor fusion, embedded GPU deployment, and low-latency software. Focus on implementing robust filtering, data association, asynchronous sensor integration, and estimator validation under noisy measurements, dropped detections, high dynamics, and constrained compute.

Location: Onsite in Gardena, California, United States. ITAR eligibility is required: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

What you will do

  • Design and implement real-time tracking and state estimation algorithms for airborne and autonomous systems.
  • Develop multi-target tracking pipelines using camera, IMU, EO/IR, and other heterogeneous sensor inputs.
  • Implement filtering, sensor fusion, track management, data association, occlusion handling, and confidence scoring.
  • Interface tracking systems with computer vision detectors and optimize pipelines for NVIDIA Jetson-class embedded platforms.
  • Build low-latency C++ software, simulation and replay environments, and estimator validation tools for operational deployment.
  • Collaborate with guidance, autonomy, perception, and controls engineers while analyzing stability, observability, and numerical robustness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, applied mathematics, physics, or a related field.
  • Strong experience with state estimation, tracking, or sensor fusion systems and strong C++ software engineering experience.
  • Experience developing real-time systems on Linux and understanding linear algebra, probability and statistics, coordinate transformations, kinematics, dynamics, and numerical methods.
  • Experience with multi-object tracking, visual-inertial estimation, SLAM, radar tracking, EO/IR tracking, or guidance and navigation systems.
  • Experience consuming outputs from TensorRT, DeepStream, OpenCV, or PyTorch/TensorRT inference pipelines and debugging noisy real-world sensor systems.
  • Must meet applicable U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Jetson Xavier, Jetson Orin, CUDA, embedded GPU platforms, or GPU-accelerated vision pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Bayesian filtering, multi-hypothesis tracking, JPDA/MHT, optical flow, or visual odometry.
  • Familiarity with ROS2, GStreamer, DeepStream, hardware interfaces, simulation environments, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Experience with high-rate telemetry, distributed real-time systems, aerospace, defense, autonomous systems, flight software, or tactical networking.
