GNC Engineer, Tracking Level 2 (Sensor Fusion)

Location: Gardena, California, United States. The role is onsite and requires eligibility under U.S. ITAR regulations, such as U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residency, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorization.

What you will do

• Design and implement real-time tracking and state-estimation algorithms for airborne and autonomous systems.
• Develop multi-target tracking and sensor-fusion pipelines using camera, IMU, EO/IR, radar, and other sensor inputs.
• Implement filtering, data association, track management, smoothing, and probabilistic-estimation methods.
• Integrate tracking systems with computer-vision detectors and asynchronous heterogeneous sensors.
• Optimize low-latency C++ software for Linux and NVIDIA Jetson-class embedded GPU platforms.
• Build simulation, replay, and validation environments while analyzing estimator stability, observability, and numerical robustness.

Requirements

• BS or MS in computer science, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, applied mathematics, physics, or a related field.
• Strong experience with state estimation, tracking, or sensor-fusion systems and strong C++ software-engineering experience.
• Experience developing real-time systems on Linux and debugging noisy real-world sensor systems.
• Solid knowledge of linear algebra, probability and statistics, coordinate frames, transformations, kinematics, dynamics, and numerical methods.
• Experience with multi-object tracking, visual-inertial estimation, SLAM, radar tracking, EO/IR tracking, or guidance and navigation systems.
• Experience consuming computer-vision outputs from TensorRT, DeepStream, OpenCV, or PyTorch/TensorRT inference pipelines.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jetson Xavier, Jetson Orin, CUDA, GPU-accelerated vision, ROS2, GStreamer, or DeepStream.
• Knowledge of Bayesian filtering, multi-hypothesis tracking, JPDA/MHT, optical flow, or visual odometry.
• Experience with asynchronous sensor synchronization, high-rate telemetry, distributed real-time systems, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Familiarity with CAN, UART/RS232, Ethernet UDP/TCP, or MIPI CSI-2 interfaces.
• Prior aerospace, defense, autonomous-systems, flight-software, or radar experience.
