Senior Software Developer (LLM)

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada; hybrid workplace with specific in-office days each month.

Annual base salary: CAD 86,300–123,024.99.

What you will do

• Develop, design, and implement microservices and tools that provide new capabilities to the ARIA LLM model.
• Design new software programs, websites, applications, and advanced programming solutions.
• Develop, upgrade, maintain, and troubleshoot existing services and code.
• Conduct feasibility studies, propose software enhancements, and manage project timelines and tasks.
• Perform code reviews, create technical documentation, and document development processes.
• Collaborate with development managers and the AI Research team, participate in Scrum meetings, and help supervise deployments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a related field.
• Professional experience with Python, object-oriented programming, unit testing, and pytest.
• Experience with microservices, AWS infrastructure and managed services, including Lambda, queues, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and IAM roles.
• Knowledge of Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation, or a similar infrastructure-as-code language; Linux and task automation experience are required.
• Familiarity with LLM architecture, software development best practices, Git, debugging, technical documentation, and cross-team communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with the FastAPI framework.
