What you will do

• Engineer substation designs for campus interconnection, including HV yards and MV distribution substations.
• Own the physical and electrical design, including layouts, bus configurations, and equipment specifications.
• Interface with utilities and consultants to ensure designs pass review on the first attempt.
• Standardize substation designs to be replicated across multiple sites rather than creating bespoke yards.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing HV substations, including physical, one-line, and protection interfaces.
• Experience taking substation packages through utility review processes.
• Ability to specify transmission-class transformers, breakers, and switchgear.
• Experience supporting substation construction and energization.
• Strong focus on productizing designs for scalability.

Nice to have

• Experience with 138kV-plus systems.
• Knowledge of grounding studies (IEEE 80).
• Experience with GIS substations and interconnection processes.
