Assistant Branch Manager (Retail Banking)

Location: Webster, New York, United States; onsite branch work with face-to-face customer interaction.

Salary: $26.00–$43.34 hourly

What you will do

• Support the Branch Manager in directing branch sales, business development, marketing, coaching, and daily operations.
• Develop, expand, and retain customer relationships by identifying financial needs and presenting appropriate banking, referral, and insurance products.
• Contact customers proactively, conduct needs assessments, manage portfolios, support sales promotions, and follow up on customer interactions.
• Resolve complex account servicing issues, errors, and exceptions while exercising appropriate override authority.
• Coach branch employees on customer experience, referrals, sales generation, procedures, and operational issues.
• Supervise branch operations during the Branch Manager’s absence and support hiring, scheduling, training, performance management, and team meetings.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree and at least 4 years of proven retail sales, call center, customer service, or telesales experience; alternatively, 6 years of combined higher education and work experience including 4 years of relevant experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong verbal communication, interpersonal, customer service, organization, time management, prioritization, and sales or business development skills.
• Proficiency with personal computers, word-processing and spreadsheet software, and email.
• Pertinent state Life/Accident and Health Insurance licensing required within 18 months; branch training is provided within 6 months.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, use hands and fingers, lift 5–30 lb objects, read fine print, and work with customers face to face.

• Notary public license.
• Licensed Life/Health Insurance Agent credentials.
• Bilingual ability based on branch needs.
• Internet experience and an understanding of branch profitability.
