Strategic Finance Lead (AI Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Partner with the CTO, Head of AI, and R&D leadership on investment decisions across AI, cloud and compute infrastructure, engineering capacity, and product development.
• Build the economic framework connecting AI and cloud usage, billing, operating data, forecasts, and investment decisions.
• Lead financial evaluation of major R&D investments from business case through execution and measurement.
• Own R&D planning, forecasting, and performance management across headcount, infrastructure, software, compute, and external partners.
• Evaluate vendor commitments, technical investments, product economics, and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Translate complex R&D performance into clear recommendations for executive and board audiences.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, investing, consulting, business operations, or a related analytical field.
• Experience independently owning consequential work end to end, from ambiguous problem framing through recommendation and action.
• Exceptional financial and analytical skills, including driver-based forecasts, investment cases, and scalable decision frameworks.
• Strong communication and judgment for partnering with senior technical leaders and explaining financial implications clearly.
• Ability to understand how AI products and modern infrastructure are built and scaled, and translate those systems into financial insight.
• Relevant experience supporting Engineering, Product, Data Science, AI, or Infrastructure organizations, including usage-based technology costs.

• Applied experience using AI to improve analysis, modeling, research, or recurring workflows.
• Experience evaluating cloud, compute, AI infrastructure, vendor commitments, or build-versus-buy decisions.
• Interest in shaping and building the team supporting the function.
