Robotic Welding Engineer

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $169,000–$193,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Own robotic weld cells, including programming, fixturing interfaces, and weld quality at production rates.
• Develop weld procedures, parameters, and sequencing for structural steel assemblies while controlling distortion.
• Commission new robotic cells with integrators and move them from acceptance to production rate.
• Use production data to improve first-pass yield and reduce rework at the parameter level.
• Partner with quality teams on inspections and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Production experience programming and operating robotic welding systems, beyond laboratory work.
• Deep knowledge of GMAW parameters, transfer modes, and arc behavior.
• Experience solving distortion and penetration problems on heavy weldments.
• Ability to follow WPS discipline and write welding procedures.
• Ability to work on-site in one of the listed US locations.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AWS D1.1.
• Experience with Fanuc, ABB, or Yaskawa arc packages.
• Offline programming experience.
• Experience providing fixture design input.
