Business Banking Credit Team Lead - M&T Footprint

Location: Rochester, New York, United States; four days per week required in an M&T corporate office. Locations across the M&T footprint are open.

Salary: $89,600–$149,300 annual (USD)

What you will do

• Lead the day-to-day activities of up to seven underwriters, portfolio managers, and administrative staff.
• Oversee the quality, efficiency, prioritization, and assignment of Business Banking underwriting work.
• Partner with Credit teams and sales partners on loan requests and support sales override processes.
• Train, coach, and mentor credit staff while developing training materials and procedures.
• Maintain work logs, prepare productivity reports, and coordinate updates to credit policies and processes.
• Resolve accounting, credit, policy, and procedure issues while maintaining compliance and internal control standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• At least five years of commercial credit experience with strong knowledge of accounting principles.
• At least two years of coaching, training, mentoring, or work leadership experience.
• Proficiency with personal computers and relevant software packages.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to maintain consistent credit analysis quality, maximize efficiency, and meet deadlines.

Nice to have

• Extensive knowledge of bank credit policies and procedures.
• Prior experience in a sales role.
