DreamWorks Feature - Visual Development Artist

Location: Glendale, California, United States; hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office

Salary: $89,752–$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Create artwork for early story development, visual development, and the production process.
• Develop designs for characters, environments, backgrounds, costumes, and props under the guidance of the Production Designer and Art Director.
• Support Story, Modeling, Surfacing, Matte Painting, and Layout departments with design details for locations and cameras.
• Manage timelines and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.
• Communicate work progress to production staff.

Requirements

• Ability to independently develop designs from concept through finished artwork.
• Strong understanding of design principles and color theory.
• Ability to collaborate within a team of artists.
• Solid time-management skills.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Photoshop.
• Knowledge of Maya and/or ZBrush.
