Actuary/Senior Actuarial Analyst (Healthcare)

Location: Remote

Salary: $108,000–$150,000 base salary, with the range subject to level, qualifications, experience, and internal equity; equity and benefits are also included in total compensation.

What you will do

• Own recurring actuarial and financial analyses for multiple value-based care contracts.
• Develop and maintain forecasting models, evaluate program efficacy with statistical methods, and improve actuarial workflows through large-scale database solutions.
• Support business development and actuarial analytics for a portfolio of national payer clients.
• Prepare financial reconciliations, performance reviews, analysis outputs, and presentations for executive audiences.
• Write, run, and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate healthcare claims and operational data.
• Investigate performance trends, assess model reasonableness and sensitivity, identify data-quality risks, and automate analytical pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, actuarial sciences, economics, mathematics, or another quantitative discipline.
• ASA credential or near-ASA status with demonstrated progress toward credentials, including at least four exams.
• At least 2 years of actuarial experience in a healthcare environment.
• Experience using SQL or another structured coding language to extract and transform healthcare data from large databases.
• Ability to write clean, efficient code, troubleshoot issues, and review code written by yourself or others.
• Experience working with claim-level datasets.

Nice to have

• Experience with value-based care arrangements, Medicare Advantage, risk scores, shared savings, or CMS payment models.
• Exposure to multiple actuarial functions such as pricing, reserving, forecasting, trend, or pharmacy.
• Proficiency in an additional coding language or analytics tool, such as Python, R, dbt, or SAS.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain results, solutions, and recommendations.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills, including functions, formulas, and graphs.
